In mid-June, the public will have an opportunity to visit Senior Solutions and many other organizations at not one, but two Health & Wellness benefit Fairs taking place in the Area. Both are being co-sponsored by Senior Solutions.
The first takes place on June 16, from 10:00 am to 200 pm, at the Ludlow Community Center, 37 Main Street, Ludlow. This is the second annual health fair at this location, and is again co-sponsored with Black River Good Neighbor Service. Last year, more than 200 seniors came to the festival, which was outdoors; this, year expanded capacity in the Community Center will feature services provided by organizations such as the Black River Valley Senior Center, health screenings by NorthStar Health, fraud prevention and home safety by the Windsor County Sheriff’s Office and Ludlow Police Department, a tai chi for falls prevention demonstration, opportunities for service through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and more. Download the flyer for more information.
Just five days later, on Wednesday, June 21, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, a second such fair will be held in conjunction with Voice of Hope, a recover organization, at 18 Beaver Street in Wilmington. The location is the “Old Firehouse,” a facility now shared by Senior Solutions and Voices of Hope for programming in the Deerfield Valley. This will serve as an “open house” to this new facility, which the Town of Wilmington has refurbished for use by social service and health agencies. Confirmed attendees include SEVCA, a Care in Vermont Blood Pressure clinic, demonstrations in “Zero Balancing,” SASH Shires Housing, and others.
Both festivals are free, and include a BBQ hosted by Trio Community Meals.
