Located at 10 High Street in downtown Ludlow, one of the worst hit towns in the recent flooding disaster, the Black River Valley Senior Center has not skipped a beat and is offering a full month of programming during August. It may take a while for local residents to feel that life is “back to normal,” but one way to do so is to join your neighbors in some fun, stress-relieving social activities this summer.
Bone Builders, an evidenced-based Wellness program, continues to hold sessions every Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 a.m. A new Tai Chi class, which is a gentle movement class that helps with balance and fall prevention, will be held on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. And every Friday at 11:00 a.m. you can find your neighbors challenging each other to Bridge games.
There are also some special events this month: On Monday, August 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the highly popular 70’s band, Rust to Ruin, will be offering a free concert, and for early risers, breakfast will be served from 6:30 to 8:00 am on Wednesday, August 23. The month ends on a high note with Cash Bingo on Monday, August 26 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
For information on all of these events, contact the center directly at 802-228-7421. Ludlow may have been pummeled by mother nature, but the Senior Center remains an island of stability and activity to keep our spirits up!
